What is a Sambo uniform called?

A traditional Sambo uniform consists of a jacket called a Kurtka, matching shorts, and special wrestling-style shoes called Sambovki. A belt is worn through the Kurtka's loops. The uniform is typically red or blue for competitions.

What is the difference between a Sambo Kurtka and a Judo Gi?

While they look similar, a Sambo Kurtka has key differences from a Judo Gi top (Uwagi). The Kurtka features reinforced shoulder straps ('wings') for gripping and integrated belt loops at the waist, which are absent on a standard Judo Gi.

Do you need special shoes for Sambo?
