About SAMBO STORE AUSTRALASIA

Nicholas began his martial arts journey in the 1990s with Taekwondo, earning an internationally registered 4th Dan Black Belt with Kukkiwon — the World Taekwondo Headquarters. His hunger for knowledge led him to Bujinkan Ninjutsu, where he trained under some of Australia's most respected Grand Masters, and later to Krav Maga, where he holds a G1 level with KMG (Krav Maga Global).

Whilst training Krav Maga, Nicholas began cross-training to develop his grappling — first touching on Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, then discovering SAMBO. He was immediately drawn to its blend of striking, throwing, and groundwork, and this is where Sambo Store Australasia was born. Frustrated that Australian athletes had no local source for proper FIAS-approved competition gear — the kind of gear used at World Championships — Nicholas founded the store to solve that problem.

Today, as the authorised DSI stockist for Australia and New Zealand, Sambo Store Australasia is the country's only dedicated SAMBO store. Nicholas also trains Muay Thai, travelling to Bangkok's Rajadamnern Stadium to continue his journey as a practitioner.
