TUFF War Elephant Retro Muay Thai Shorts - White

TUFF War Elephant Retro Muay Thai Shorts in White

These are the retro cut, and that is the whole point of them. Muay Thai shorts from the 1980s sat higher on the leg and wider through the hip than the modern competition cut, and fighters who came up in that era still prefer the way they move. TUFF have kept that silhouette rather than modernising it.

The design honours Chang Seuk, the war elephant, Thailand's national symbol of strength, honour and resilience. On the white base the artwork reads cleanly rather than competing with the fabric, which is why the white colourway tends to be the one people buy when they want the heritage design to actually be visible.

Why the retro cut matters

• Higher leg opening gives more room through the hip on teeps and high kicks
• Wider waistband sits comfortably above the hip bone in the clinch
• Looser through the thigh than a modern competition cut
• The silhouette Muay Thai was fought in through its golden era

Construction

• Lightweight microfiber fabric, quick drying and sweat resistant
• Handcrafted in Thailand
• Retro cut with a high leg opening
• Traditional War Elephant artwork on a white base

Training in a gym that runs a lot of clinch work, or you just prefer a closer modern silhouette? The standard cut TUFF War Elephant Shorts in White use the traditional Muay Thai cut with deep side leg slits instead.
